SECTION 1 – DEALERSHIP ADMINISTRATION
1.2 WARRANTY RECORD REQUIREMENTS
1.2.10 Ordering New Parts for Unsold In-Stock Vehicles
When a “new” part is required for an unsold in-stock vehicle in which the service part exists only as remanufactured, follow these instructions:
- The Parts Department is to contact the Parts Assistance Center (PAC) / Dealer Parts Support Group (DPSG).
- The dealership employee will be required to indicate to the PAC / DPSG contact that a “new” replacement part is required for an unsold vehicle because certain Government laws and Ford policy prohibit the sale of a new vehicle using remanufactured or reconditioned parts.
- The PAC / DPSG will contact the manufacturing source for the new part and have it shipped directly to the dealer.
