1.4.2 Non-Specialist Sublet Repairs

A non-specialist sublet repair is defined as a repair that the Dealer can be expected to complete in the Dealership using Dealership personnel and equipment, but for certain reasons, may not be able to at that time. For example, 'A/C leak diagnosis and repairs', ‘manual transmission overhaul’ or ‘differential overhaul’.

Sublet of warranty repairs can be carried out when:

the repair is truly beyond the scope of the Dealership; or

a Ford/ Lincoln Dealership has been authorized as a specialist unit repairer for the component requiring repairs; or

the repair fulfills the requirements of an emergency repair; or

where the Company instructs the Dealership to have the repairs conducted by a specialist repairer.
