1.4 SUBLET OF WARRANTY REPAIRS
Introduction
Dealerships should ensure their technicians have completed the appropriate Ford technical training required to complete repairs on Ford vehicles. They should also maintain a suitable inventory of tools and equipment necessary to ensure that all work possible on Ford vehicles will be carried out internally. Ford Dealers may, in certain situations, elect to send a required repair to an outside repair facility for completion. These are known as Sublet Repairs. There are two kinds of sublet repair:
1.4.1 Specialist Sublet Repairs
A specialist sublet repairer is used to complete repairs that the Dealership does not have, or is not expected to have, the capability of completing. For example, panel repairs or Interior Command Center refurbishment.
