SECTION 2 CARRIER DROP-OFF & NEW CAR DELIVERY
2.10 STORAGE OF NEW VEHICLES
2.10.1 General
- Store vehicles on a paved surface with adequate spacing so doors can be opened without damaging adjacent vehicles.
- Remove any tape, shipping films, stickers, etc. after vehicle check-in to avoid damage during removal at pre-delivery.
- Do not remove door protectors or white Rapgard from painted horizontal surfaces, if present, until pre-delivery.
NOTE: If wheels are covered with a protective polyurethane film when received, do not remove the cover until the vehicle is being prepared for delivery to the customer.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT lift the protective film until full removal is required. This protective film must be left on the vehicle until it is prepared for delivery to a customer but must be removed after a maximum storage period of six months. A date stamping on the protective film will indicate the required removal date. The vehicle must then be cared for as detailed in this Manual.
- Move the vehicle an adequate distance - every 15 days - so that a different portion of the tread contacts the ground – to reduce tyres flat-spotting and to agitate the anti-oxidation agents in the fuel tank.
