SECTION 2 CARRIER DROP-OFF & NEW CAR DELIVERY
2.2 TRANSIT DAMAGE OR LOSS
2.2.1 Introduction
Rectification of Transit Damage or Loss is not the Company's responsibility and must not be made the subject of a normal warranty claim. The Company will direct claims for the rectification of Transit Damage or Loss to the Carrier within the terms of the applicable agreement. The Dealership must provide support as required in this Manual to enable the Company to make timely Transit Damage or Loss claims against the Carrier. Failure to do so will result in the Dealership bearing responsibility for such Transit Damage or Loss.
The following items are not Transit Damage or Loss claims:
- Pre-delivery inspection items such as:
- Manufacturing and material defects such as paint runs, dirt in paint, paint defects including blemishes under clear coat and poor metal finish including imperfect pressing
- Clearly identifiable manufacturing damage, for example; inside outwards dents
- Small scratches or scuffs that can be removed by polishing (items of this nature are part of the Pre-delivery and not reimbursable)
- Damage that has occurred to vehicles after the initial delivery from the vehicle dispatch facility to a Dealership or an authorized third party (i.e., damage occurring as a result of a Dealership swap)
- Items missing from a sealed 'loose items' bag.
