SECTION 2 CARRIER DROP-OFF & NEW CAR DELIVERY
2.2 TRANSIT DAMAGE OR LOSS
2.2.5 Delayed/Denied Loss & Damage Claims Payment
Prompt careful inspection of each new vehicle and accurate noting of any loss or damage found during the inspection is essential.
- Ford reserves the right to debit Dealers for claims that are rejected wholly or in part by the Carrier.
- If a claim is denied (by the Carrier), the Dealer’s Daily Posting Statement reflects the debit. The reason for the debit is shown on the comment section of the claim.
- If claims are not submitted in accordance with this Policy, Ford may:
- Delay payment until final settlement with the Carrier.
- Require the Dealership to obtain electronic approval of the VSR directly from the Carrier (i.e., no manual adjustment to the VSR from Dealer will be accepted).
- Claims are not considered final until settlement is reached with the Carrier.
Where a Loss and Damage claim is reversed/denied and the guidelines indicate the concern is of a warrantable nature, but the repair has exceeded the repair submission time limit, Dealers should file the subsequent warranty claim within 30 days from the date of claim reversal/denial. While submitting this warranty claim, the system will deny and return the claim to the Dealer with the reason “claim submitted beyond repair submission time limit”. Please appeal the claim and enter the following comments in the Technician Comments field of the claim: "Resubmission of In-Transit Damage claim as a Warrantable Repair." Repairs submitted without this statement will not be accepted.
