SECTION 2 CARRIER DROP-OFF & NEW CAR DELIVERY
2.6 NEW CAR DELIVERY GUIDELINES
2.6.1 New Vehicles Damaged in Dealer Stock Before Delivery
When vehicles are sold on an "as is" or "salvage" or "write-off" basis (i.e., statutory or economic write-off) by the Dealership or their Insurer, individual warranty requests may be reviewed by the Company on a case by case basis.
- No warranties are provided whatsoever, and the vehicle is no longer covered under Local law.
- Safety recalls are honoured on these vehicles
- For the Dealer’s protection, prepare a Purchaser’s Acknowledgment Statement on the Retail Buyer’s Order Form or on Dealer stationery.
- Follow the disclosure of damage regulations as per Company policy and ensure compliance with all applicable local regulations.
- Dealerships are responsible to record the signed Acknowledgment Statement from the purchaser that the vehicle was sold under an "as-is" or "Salvage" or "write-off" basis that holds no warranties whatsoever and the vehicle is no longer covered by Local law
IMPORTANT: All damaged vehicles that are not repaired and sold as new units (e.g., hail damage) must be reported to Ford Regional Office. Damaged vehicles which are not saleable as new vehicles to retail customers, or which are purchased by an insurance company are not eligible for any Ford Division or Lincoln Division Warranties, Goodwill, or incentive programs.
