SECTION 3 – PRIOR APPROVAL

3.1 PRIOR APPROVAL REQUIREMENTS

3.1.4 Conditions NOT Subject to Disallowance

3.1.4.1 On-Site Inspector (such as FSE) Approval/Video Imaging Approval

Coverage eligibility - provided all relevant information (i.e., complete service history) was accurately provided at the time of inspection. Extent/Cost of Repair (for example, replacing an engine vs. repairing an engine) provided that diagnostic and repair direction from the Company inspector was followed. This condition only applies to the aspects of the repair in which the on-site inspector/video imaging activity was involved. Such approval does not exempt the claim from warranty adjustment or review/audit examination.

3.1.4.2 Technical Assistance Center (TAC) Involvement

The Technical Assistance Center should only be contacted after the Dealer runs symptom codes in OASIS and performs the repairs accordingly. If the problem is still present, the TAC may be contacted for technical and diagnostic support only. The TAC does not provide approval and/or make financial commitments for warranty coverage. The decision whether a repair is warrantable or not lies solely with the repairing dealer. Claims with TAC involvement may be reviewed for warranty payment on a merit basis. For repairs to vehicles that are outside of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period, the TAC may provide a technical Prior Approval only. This does not guarantee any financial contribution towards the repair by Ford. Goodwill assistance requests must still be submitted to Ford following the appropriate Policy found on the FMCDealer portal.
