Section A – Warranty Policy Manual
A.2 CARRIER DROP-OFF
A.2.3 Claim Reimbursement – Vehicle Loss and Damage
A.2.3.1 Introduction
There are two ways of seeking reimbursement for Vehicle Loss and Damage.
- Ford acts as an intermediary between the Dealer and the Carrier. Dealers may submit in-transit loss and damage claims to Ford and receive reimbursement on the Monthly Posting Statement so long as the Dealer uses proper vehicle inspection procedures and follows in-transit loss and damage claims guidelines.
- The Dealer handles in-transit loss and damage claims directly with the Carrier, railroad, or warehouse. In this case, Dealers must:
- Direct all enquiries to the Carrier, railroad, or warehouse
- Not submit the claim through the Ford Warranty Claiming System
