SECTION 1 – DEALERSHIP ADMINISTRATION
1.1 DEALERSHIP WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.1.2 R&R Part from In-Stock Vehicle
Under certain situations, it is allowable to remove and replace (R&R) a part from an in-stock vehicle to complete a New Vehicle Limited Warranty or authorized Extended Service Plan (ESP) repair. This procedure should be used under the following circumstances ONLY
- Repair qualifies as an emergency repair. (Retain supporting documentation)
- Parts are not available from the local Ford Parts Distribution Center (PDC) within a reasonable time frame & must be supported by an Emergency Parts Order (2V VOR order). Please refer to Emergency Repairs (Retain supporting documentation).
If the repair meets the qualifications listed above: remove the required part from the in-stock vehicle and install it on the customer’s vehicle that is in for service, and then file a normal warranty claim. When the replacement part is received, install the replacement part in the stock unit and submit a labour-only warranty claim. Refer to the One Warranty Solution (OWS) / Service Vehicle Info System 2 (SERVIS2) User Guide for complete claiming instructions.
