SECTION 2 CARRIER DROP-OFF & NEW CAR DELIVERY
2.8 INVOICING AND CREDITS
2.8.5 Credit for Options Not Delivered
In some cases, the Dealer or customer may be willing to accept the vehicle in the as built condition. Dealers should contact Warranty Operations Helpdesk and request to have the vehicle reinvoiced to match the as built condition. Where the vehicle has already been retailed and delivered to the customer, this process should be followed for Ford to re-invoice the vehicle to the Dealer at a lower price. The Dealer can then refund the customer the value of the missing Option.
The Dealer must have the customer sign a Form acknowledging the vehicle specifications are different to what was in the Marketing brochures, what was ordered and what the customer has paid for, and that they are willing to accept the vehicle in the as delivered condition along with the compensation offered by the Dealer.
Example:
A vehicle is ordered with Navigation but is built, received, and retailed without that Option. The vehicle has been modified for a commercial business and the customer later discovers the missing Navigation option. It’s not possible to rework the vehicle to have the Navigation installed at a Service Department level so the customer agrees to accept the vehicle in the as built condition along with a refund to compensate them for the missing Option.
