SECTION 4 – FORD/LINCOLN PROGRAM POLICIES
4.5 ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
4.5.2 Towing Coverage Conditions
- For vehicles eligible for towing coverage under the applicable warranty coverage for the specific Vehicle, Dealers must use CT11 to claim towing. This requires a Prior Approval through the Warranty Claiming System if the cost of towing exceeds $250 except where the vehicle is eligible for RSA coverage.
- Where the applicable approved warranty coverage for the specific Vehicle provides towing claim eligibility beyond the base Ford Vehicle Warranty Period, Dealers should use CT83 in accordance with Ford-approved vehicle-specific warranty records, VIN-specific warranty information, and any formally issued Ford customer or dealer communications in effect and applicable to that Vehicle.
NOTE: Any Towing charge exceeding $250.00 excluding GST must have an approved Prior Approval through the Warranty Claiming system prior to entering the Claim.
When submitting a Prior Approval or Claim for the towing in the Warranty Claiming System, Dealers should enter this as a separate repair line and use the Causal part "TOWING" along with the appropriate Customer Concern Code and Condition Code when submitting the Claim. In the Technician Comments area, please include the following details:
- Where the vehicle has broken down; and
- The distance the vehicle is being towed to the nearest Dealer; and
- State the nature of the defect to support the vehicle being towed.
