A.3.22 Warranty Cancellation

A.3.22.1 Warranty Cancellation – Summary

The Company will cancel the New Vehicle Limited Warranty in part or in total on damaged vehicles based on data provided by insurance companies, Dealer requests and internal sources within Ford Motor Company. This includes, but is not limited to, vehicles damaged because of an accident or a natural disaster.

In addition to full warranty cancellations, other elements of the warranty may also be cancelled on engine, transmission, powertrain, rear axle, electrical, fuel system, suspension, paint and sheet metal due to abuse, misuse, or modifications that caused damage or neglect. If you encounter any of these situations, you may request that the warranty be cancelled by contacting the Warranty Operations Helpdesk.

SERVIS2 / OASIS displays a Warranty Alert message when all or part of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty is called into question (e.g., economic statutory write-off, Vehicle misuse, etc...).

A.3.22.2 Other Cancellation Categories

In some instances, Ford may cancel all or part of a vehicle’s warranty due to customer abuse, racing, damage caused by modifications or weather, conversion to a limousine, etc. In these instances, a specific message will appear in OASIS as Warranty Alert. Dealers are advised to contact the Warranty Operations Helpdesk for further information regarding these alerts.
